Carragher was asked if he thinks Liverpool can challenge for the title, and he replied that yes, they can. However, he also emphasized that the team needs to improve significantly from last season's fifth-place finish.
Carragher noted that the days of managers taking four or five years to build a team capable of winning the league are over. He cited the example of Jurgen Klopp, who took over a team that finished third and went on to win the league.
Carragher is not expecting Liverpool to win the league next season, but he believes the team will still challenge for the title due to their strong squad and willingness to spend big in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool will begin their new season with a series of challenging matches, including home games against Nottingham Forest and Fulham, as well as a trip to newly-promoted Ipswich.
