AC Milan has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Amorim, with the deal set to run until June 2028, with an option to extend until June 2029.
Amorim has accepted the terms of the agreement and is expected to sign with the Italian club this week.
Manchester United has a provision of £15.9m in their accounts, related to money owed to Amorim and his coaching staff after he was sacked.
However, if Amorim takes a new job, the club would not have to pay the maximum amount, freeing up funds ahead of the summer transfer window.
AC Milan and Manchester United are scheduled to meet in a pre-season friendly on August 15th in Wroclaw, Poland, which could be an interesting reunion for the two teams.
