Rival candidate Noronha Lopes has stated that he plans to include former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva on his ticket.
Rui Costa responded by saying that such promises are meaningless and that the club's members should not be swayed by them.
He explained that he has made efforts to bring players from Benfica's youth academy to the club over the years, citing the examples of João Félix and Nélson Semedo.
While Rui Costa acknowledged that bringing back players like Bernardo Silva would be desirable, he emphasized that he would not make promises he cannot keep to the club's fans.
