Barcelona are facing allegations of tax evasion related to a €10m payment made to a company called Business Futbol España (BFE). The payment was allegedly for "intermediation services" connected to the signing of Brazilian player Malcolm in 2018. However, investigators claim that these services either did not occur or were significantly overvalued.The investigation, led by the Catalan police, suggests that between 2018 and 2020, the payments were structured to avoid tax liabilities. This was allegedly done by modifying the player's original employment contract with the club, which lowered the reported earnings and consequently reduced Treasury payments.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
