In a recent interview, Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta referred to AC Milan as a title contender, but Allegri prefers to downplay expectations.
"Let's start again with a clear perspective," Allegri said with a smile.
"I'd rather listen and observe rather than make predictions or jokes about our chances."
Allegri acknowledged that several teams, including Lazio, Inter, Napoli, and Juventus, will be strong contenders for the title.
He emphasized the need for AC Milan to maintain a strong performance and stay focused on their goals.
"We need to be in the best possible shape by March," Allegri said.
"If we achieve that, we'll have a chance to see if we can do even better."
