Wirtz's parents played a key role in representing him during the negotiations.
"Arne Slot presented his team's playing philosophy, tactics, and how Florian could develop his strengths in these areas," his father, Hans, explained. "This made a big impression on Florian. The training conditions in Liverpool were also very impressive."
"Arne Slot has impressed Florian with his playing style, and he's a very pleasant person," Hans added. "Florian's best coaches have always been those who gave him the freedom to play his game."
Hans also praised the unique style of English football, which he believes suits his son's playing style. "Florian finds the game in England interesting because it thrives on pace and dynamism," he said.
Regarding Bayern Munich, Hans expressed his respect for Uli Hoeness's efforts to sign Florian. "The situation with Bayern was difficult because Uli Hoeness and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge made incredible efforts and clearly analysed the sporting possibilities," he said.
However, Hans noted that the final phone call with Hoeness was difficult, as he had personally worked hard to secure the transfer. "We are still grateful to him for his help during a tough time," Hans said.
