Ankergren has a wealth of experience in the sport, having played for Leeds United and Brighton, and has also worked as a coach with Graham Potter's team at Brighton.
During his time at Brondby, Ankergren played a key role in developing the skills of Mads Hermansen, who is now a goalkeeper for Leicester City, and Patrick Pentz, a goalkeeper for Brondby and the Austria national team.
At West Ham, Ankergren will work closely with fellow new appointment Linus Kandolin, who will also be involved in goalkeeping coaching.
