"He is expected to be out for a few weeks, but it's not a serious injury," Amorim said. "We need to be careful, but he's feeling better and should be back around the same time Amad leaves for the Africa Cup of Nations."
Amorim also provided updates on other team members, including Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo.
"Maguire is not yet ready to return, and Kobbie didn't train today but could join the team tomorrow," Amorim said.
Amorim praised Luke Shaw's versatility, noting that the player can adapt to different positions, including left wing back.
Regarding Lisandro Martinez, Amorim said that while the player is intelligent and can play in various positions, he is not yet ready to return to the lineup.
As the Africa Cup of Nations approaches, Amorim discussed the challenges of releasing players to join their national teams.
"We have rules in place for when we must release players," Amorim explained. "We're trying to keep them with the team for as long as possible, but it's not in our control. Players will likely leave around two weeks before the tournament starts."
Amorim sees this as an opportunity for other players, such as those from the U21 team, to step up and contribute to the team.
Finally, Amorim reflected on his one-year anniversary as Manchester United manager, acknowledging the challenges he faced in his first season.
"It was a lot to take in at first, adjusting to the Premier League environment," Amorim said. "But we've shown that we can compete with the best teams in the world. We need to remember our recent performances and build on that."
Amorim emphasized the importance of learning from last season's struggles and aiming for more control and dominance in future matches.
