Interestingly, Gittens also has a history with Chelsea's youth academy. He revealed that he was a Chelsea junior during his Under-8 or Under-9 level days.
"It feels like coming full circle," Gittens said. "I was at Chelsea for a short time, but I have fond memories of attending training sessions once a week. It was a great experience."
Gittens also played against Chelsea in several youth tournaments, including the FA Youth Cup and Premier League matches.
At his previous club, Manchester City, Gittens played alongside new Chelsea teammates Cole Palmer and Liam Delap. He also had the opportunity to play against Levi Colwill, who is now a Chelsea player.
"I had text messages from Cole and Liam welcoming me to the team," Gittens shared. "We all knew each other from playing together or against each other in the youth leagues."
Gittens also mentioned that he used to watch Chelsea games on TV when he was younger, particularly during the Eden Hazard era. He admired Hazard's playing style and also enjoyed watching Willian play.
"My dream is to play in the Premier League," Gittens said. "I'm excited to join a team with a winning mentality and to learn from everyone in the squad."
As he settles into his new role, Gittens aims to improve his skills and become a more consistent player. He is looking forward to working with his new teammates and pushing himself to achieve his best.
