As captain, Bernardo feels it's his job to maintain a positive atmosphere in the dressing room and promote healthy competition among the players. He also wants to help younger players adapt to the team as quickly as possible.
"It's about helping them adapt as quickly as possible," he explained. "That's the most important thing about this club, it's the responsibility and the level. You have to fight for the big things."
When asked about his relationship with Guardiola, Bernardo described it as a mix of professional and personal. He has worked with the manager for over eight years and has learned a great deal from him.
"We've won a lot together," he said. "He's given me a lot and I've learned a lot from him. I'm learning something new every day."
Guardiola's ability to adapt and change his approach is something that Bernardo appreciates. He believes this is one of the reasons the manager has been so successful.
"Winning six Premier League titles is not normal," Bernardo said. "There's a lot of competition and a lot of young players coming into the team. They need time to develop."
