"Players from the German and Dutch mentality often face similar issues," Sneijder explained. "They can excel in their own country, but adapting to different environments can be tough. I see this happening with Florian Wirtz as well."
Sneijder noted that Wirtz felt comfortable in Germany and was performing well, but the move to Liverpool has been a significant step up, and the pressure to perform immediately is intense.
"When you join a big club, you need to be at your best right away," Sneijder said. "If you don't meet expectations, you may struggle to gain the trust of your teammates and coaches."
Liverpool are currently facing a challenging season, sitting below rivals Arsenal and Manchester United in the league table. Manager Arne Slot will need to come up with a plan to help Wirtz regain his form and potentially revive the team's title aspirations.
Wirtz signed a five-year contract with Liverpool at the age of 22, indicating that the club is committed to supporting him through this difficult period.
