Many in the media focused on his behavior, both on and off the pitch, and during training sessions, which led to questions about his attitude.
In a conversation with an Italian sports publication, Balotelli expressed his thoughts on the media's coverage, stating that they often went too far and that he struggled to adapt to life away from home.
"My experience with Inter was an important part of my development, but I think England had the greatest impact on me," he said.
"It was the first time I was on my own, without my family, and I wasn't used to it. It shapes you for better or for worse, as you make mistakes and have to learn from them on your own."
Balotelli also referenced his song "Why Always Me?", which he released before a match against a warehouse worker, and said the media in England went overboard with their coverage of him.
Now 35 and without a current club, Balotelli's time with Manchester City saw him score 30 goals in 80 games and win the Premier League title, but he will likely be remembered more for his personality and off-field antics.
