The 30-year-old joined the Magpies in 2016 after starting his professional career with Arsenal and has since made 171 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Most recently, Hayden spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan with Championship side Portsmouth, following loan spells with Standard Liège and Queens Park Rangers during the previous campaign.

Hayden is now looking to find a new club, with a goal of joining another Premier League team after his recent spell with Portsmouth.
