Thomas Frank, Tottenham's manager, has compared the team's young player Xavi Simons to Liverpool's Florian Wirtz. Both players are 22 years old and were signed from the Bundesliga. Wirtz joined Liverpool for a record-breaking transfer fee, but has yet to score a goal or make an assist in a competitive match. Simons, also signed from the Bundesliga, has had a similar start to his Premier League career, but did manage to get an assist in Tottenham's 3-0 win over West Ham.Before Tottenham's upcoming Champions League match against Monaco, Frank discussed Simons and his performance. He noted that both Wirtz and Simons are adapting to new environments and need time to settle in. Frank emphasized the importance of judging players over the long term, rather than focusing on individual games. He pointed out that Simons showed some positive signs in the team's recent match, specifically his ability to arrive in the box and create opportunities.

Frank believes that Simons is moving in the right direction, but acknowledged that there wasn't a single standout moment in the game. He sees the young player's performance as a step forward, even if it's not immediately noticeable.
