Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is one of the fans who is growing impatient with the situation. In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Ferdinand expressed his concerns about the club's inability to meet Brentford's valuation of around £65 million for the winger.
"Man United need to find a way of meeting Brentford's valuation," Ferdinand said. "The proposal doesn't seem to be enough for Brentford, but Man United need to get this done."
Ferdinand believes that if the deal is not completed soon, it will be an embarrassing situation for Manchester United. He also pointed out that the club has not revealed any alternative plans or players they are considering as a replacement for Mbeumo.
"Who have they got waiting in the wings as an alternative? We haven't heard any names that are close," Ferdinand said.
Despite the challenges, Ferdinand is confident that the deal will go through. He believes that Manchester United has allowed the situation to become public, and now they need to take action to complete the transfer.
"I would be surprised if this deal doesn't go through," Ferdinand said. "United have allowed it to go public and they are in a position now where they have to make a move to get it over the line."
Ferdinand sees Mbeumo as a good fit for Manchester United, citing his physical abilities, goal-scoring record in the Premier League, and familiarity with the league.
"He fits the bill for me physically, he is dynamic, scores goals in the Premier League, knows the Premier League," Ferdinand said. "Watch this space."
