Manchester United have taken four penalties in the Premier League this season, more than any other team.
Wolverhampton Wanderers, on the other hand, have lost their last eight Premier League games, their longest losing streak in the competition.
Wolves started the match strongly, with early efforts from Diogo Dalot and Bryan Mbeumo being saved by Sam Johnstone. However, Manchester United broke the deadlock in the 25th minute after Casemiro dispossessed André, allowing Bruno Fernandes to score a close-range goal set up by Matheus Cunha.
United pushed for a quick second goal, but Cunha's strike was cleared off the line by Toti Gomes. Wolves then had a chance to equalize, but Jean-Ricner Bellegarde's powerful long-range effort was off-target.
Wolves equalized just before halftime, with David Møller Wolfe's cut-back being superbly directed into the far corner by Bellegarde for the hosts' first goal since October.
Manchester United regained the lead shortly after halftime and went on to secure a 4-1 victory, with Bruno Fernandes scoring two goals.
